Tools & Tech

Analytics & Data Insights

  • Google Analytics & GA4: My compass for all things web traffic and user behavior. I regularly dive into GA reports to understand what’s working on a site – and what’s not – to inform campaign tweaks.

  • Google Tag Manager: A tag manager might not be flashy, but it’s a lifesaver. I’ve set up tags and triggers to track conversions and events without needing to bug the developers (much).

  • Tableau & Data Studio: When it’s time to turn data into visuals, I use Tableau and Google Data Studio to build dashboards that make performance stats understandable for everyone from the intern to the CEO.

Advertising & SEO

  • Google Ads (AdWords): From search ads to display campaigns, I’ve managed budgets big and small on Google’s ad network. Keyword research and quality scores are practically second nature to me at this point.

  • Social Media Ads: Facebook/Instagram Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Twitter Ads – you name it. I enjoy the challenge of tweaking targeting parameters and creatives to find the sweet spot for each audience.

  • SEO Tools: I’m proficient with SEMrush and Ahrefs for keyword research and site audits. I’ve also used Moz and Google Search Console extensively to boost organic rankings and fix technical SEO gremlins.

Content & Design

  • WordPress & CMS: I’ve built or managed dozens of WordPress sites and blogs. From choosing themes to tweaking SEO plugins, I know my way around a CMS to keep content fresh and optimized.

  • Adobe Creative Suite: While I’m not a full-time designer, I can hold my own in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to tweak creatives or layout content. Need a social media graphic in a pinch? I’m on it.

  • Canva: For quick, polished visuals or brainstorming layouts with teammates who aren’t Adobe-savvy. Canva is a dear friend that proves good design doesn’t always require starting from scratch.

  • Video Editing: I have basic skills in tools like Adobe Premiere Pro and iMovie – I’ve edited marketing promo videos and snappy social media clips when needed.

Marketing Automation & CRM

  • HubSpot: From email marketing to CRM, I’ve leveraged HubSpot to run drip campaigns, score leads, and align marketing with sales. I’m comfortable building workflows and tracking the entire lead lifecycle.

  • Mailchimp: For simpler email campaigns and newsletters (especially in smaller projects), I’ve used Mailchimp’s templates and automation features extensively.

  • Salesforce (Marketing Cloud): I’m familiar with integrating marketing campaigns into Salesforce’s CRM data – ensuring that our efforts are feeding the sales team real, actionable leads.

Social & Collaboration

  • Hootsuite & Buffer: Managing multiple social media accounts efficiently is key. These tools have helped me schedule posts across Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc., and monitor engagement all in one place.

  • Slack, Trello, Asana: Teamwork makes the dream work, as they say. I use Slack for quick comms, and Trello/Asana to keep projects on track. (Does this count as marketing tools? I’d argue yes – organized marketing is effective marketing!)

  • Google Workspace: Docs, Sheets, Slides – the staples of collaboration. From drafting copy in Google Docs to sharing campaign results in Slides, I’m well-versed in the whole suite.

Artificial intelligence use in marketing

AI in Marketing

The rise of AI in marketing isn’t just a trend – it’s a game-changer that’s here to stay. But let me be clear: AI isn’t coming for marketers’ jobs anytime soon. In fact, I believe the opposite. AI is like a superpower for those of us willing to use it. As the saying goes, “AI won’t replace marketers, but marketers who use AI will replace those who don’t.” Why? Because leveraging AI can make us smarter, faster, and more creative than ever.

Here are a few ways it’s part of my marketing toolkit:

  1. Brainstorming & Content Creation: When I’m staring at a blank page, I’ll often turn to AI tools like ChatGPT for a creativity boost. It’s amazing for brainstorming blog titles, social media captions, or even outlining campaign concepts.

  2. Data Analysis & Insights: Sorting through piles of data can be time-consuming. I use AI-driven analytics tools to quickly surface patterns – whether it’s the best time to post on social media or predicting which leads are most likely to convert.

  3. Personalization & Customer Experience: AI makes one-to-one marketing at scale possible. I’ve used AI in email campaigns to dynamically adjust content based on user preferences, and chatbots to handle common customer inquiries on websites.

  4. Image and Video Generation: I dabble with AI design tools too – using platforms like DALL·E and Midjourney for concept art, or even using AI to auto-generate video captions and translations.
